    Post-event simulation analysis of "2024.8.25" rainstorm and waterlogging in Tianjin's Central Urban Area

    • In late August 2024, Tianjin experienced intense rainfall, leading to severe urban waterlogging. With the flood analysis model of Tianjin's Central Urban Area, a post-event analysis of this rainstorm was conducted. The model is built with the IFMS software developed by the China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, and the software integrates a one-dimensional river model, a two-dimensional surface model, and a drainage network model. The simulation results closely matched the observations from waterlogging monitoring stations. The study also identified the causes of waterlogging and proposed corresponding solutions based on the model analysis. The further improvement of this model will provide effective digital analysis support for flood prevention and early warning in Tianjin's Central Urban Area.
