Abstract:
In order to measure the rainfall measurement performance of different types of rainfall observation instruments, five different rain gauges (weighing rain gauge OTT Pluvio2 and LTPG1500, tipping bucket rain gauge SL3-1 and JDZ05, piezoelectric rain gauge RT) were compared. The results show that the rainfall measured by the weighing rain gauge OTT Pluvio2 and LTPG1500 basically fluctuates within the range of ± 4% error control line under all rainfall intensities (10~260 mm/h) set in the experiment. The rainfall measured by the tipping bucket rain gauge SL3-1 is generally lower than the error control line of 4%. When the rainfall intensity is large, most of the tipping bucket rain gauge JDZ05 can meet the requirements of the relevant specifications; although the piezoelectric rain gauge can qualitatively analyze the rainfall intensity, it has a significant deviation in the quantitative measurement accuracy. The comparison results can provide a scientific basis for researchers to reasonably select rainfall observation instruments.
